Ousourcing oarts of the business has helped many firms or companies. American Novelty Products asks Todd to go to India to change the face of the office in India.

Effect of Outsourcing on the characters:

David:

Being the boss, he takes the decisions. Sitting in US he takes decisions of the company and decides the future of a lot of people. When he dicides to send the entire department as theyre being outsourced. He asks Todd to reduce the MPI. David is benefited as the company pays lesser as it is being outsourced from india. He has lesser people to tackle in the US office. He can try to concentrate on a new field or product for the company. One big aspect is being taken care by another team, and that too it gets done at a way cheaper rate. The MPI is low and thus the company may be hit due to that. His effort to reduce that results in lesser people at the US office. Better than firing somebody out of the organisation, send him to another place to train people. The co. and the employee benefit. Besides the call takign a lot of time in india, he is a happy man as he is sitting comfortably in US while all the work is left in India. He could now work on something more concrete as he has much lesser of a workload. He faces the problem of the MPI of India being too high, thus reducing the pace of the calls. He is not in direct contact with the employees here. It is a difficulty due to the cultural differences, time zone and language barrier, more of the accent, etc.

Todd:

He is a person who is forced to come to India. He was not offered this. He was asked to eitehr quit or train the manager at India. If you look at it technically, he had no option. He accepted and entered a land hes never been to. So during the initial stages he is not happy about outsourcing. He faces a lot of cultural discomfot. Hes not enjoying his stay In India, as hes not used to the happenings of this country. It is because of outsourcing that hes forced to come here as hes fired if not....
