Demographic Transition Phases

Abstract

This paper will discuss demographic transition. A description of the four phases of demographic transition will be given. The factors that lead to a decline in the crude birth rate and crude death rate in the epidemiologic and fertility phase of the demographic transition will be discussed. The living conditions that have reached phase IV will be explained. A suggested program will be given for the country on how to achieve their goal of progressing forward.

Demographic Transition Phases

Demographic statistics data are important to the government because it allows them to see and analyze demographic trends. The data allows them to forecast future needs based on the past population growth of the nation. The ability to modify budgets and increase the supply of goods for the population is another example of the valuable information that can come from demographic data. This paper will focus on the demographic transition phases of developing and developed countries.

This stage or phase is described as having no population growth due to the high fluctuation of births and deaths in the population. The population growth is based on the supply of food available to feed the population and the health of the population. The living...
