Riordan Manufacturing Active Directory Implementation Plan
The Active Directory in Microsoft Windows Server 2003, which is currently in place for Riordan Manufacturing, is in need of an upgrade to accommodate company expansion and the progressively changing needs of the organization.
Riordan Manufacturing has plants in Pontiac Michigan, Albany Georgia, and has recently expanded its operations to China. The need exists to put in place an Active Directory plan that will assist to computerize and smooth the progress of network management across the board.
The corporate office for Riordan Manufacturing is located in San Jose California; this office will be the centralized location for the consolidation of the company’s networks. Listed below are the departments within the company that need to be in an ordered directory for customers, users, information systems, and group plans:
Company Departments:
Accounting and Finance
Marketing and Sales
Human Resources
Operations
Legal
Information Technology
Company customers, users, information systems, and equipment such as scanners, printers, and laptops are essential to keep the company productive, and these will need to be accounted for. These products will all be controlled and managed through the Active Directory at all locations.
Riordan Manufacturing’s Active Directory arrangement will include Trees, Forest, Domains, Associational Units, and Groups. The Forest which is a domain structure hierarchy based on a trust relationship, and is in the shape of an inverted tree, will be utilized at the San Jose amenities headquarters.
