Not many people can even think about how life would be without using a car to get around. One of the greatest inventions in the history of the world, the car or vehicle has changed the way people live their lives. Along with this great invention came many hazards towards our environment. Due to all the toxins a car produces, some people see them as a threat towards human health. While many people have a different outlook on this issue, they see how more efficient cars can help with new jobs and global warming. By driving more efficient cars the benefits can help both our environment and the customer some money.

Global warming has been a matter that has concerned scientist for many years. There are many things that can cause global warming but one of the primary causes is the cars and trucks on the road every day. By driving more efficient vehicles, oil imports can be cut, money can be saved, jobs can be created, and it will help with global warming (Easton, 2008). According to the CAFÉ standards, the technology is here to improve the fuel efficiency for new cars and trucks (Easton, 2008). Our environment is in danger because of our addiction to oil. In 1984 the first CAFÉ standard for cars asked manufacturers to achieve an average of 27.5 miles per gallon (Fairley, 2008). CAFÉ...
