Why this virtue is important to you. How does the person you selected encompass this virtue and the associated character strengths?

The courage of a soldier. Soldiers in the army face all types of challenges on a daily basis, whether or not they are overseas at war or not. For a man to become a soldier they must decide if they are willing to be selfless and fight for their country, knowing at some point they will probably leave the stated to go overseas to war. Leaving their families and loved ones behind not know if they will ever return or not. Once a soldier is deployed they face the struggles of the war, always having to watch their backs and constantly worry about the dangers of the war. They also face the fact that they are over there without their families and often do not get to speak to their love ones for days or weeks. After they come home from war they are still facing repercussions from being overseas, whether they got injured or the mental challenges. Dealing with the horrific things they have seen while at war, those things stick with them. Many soldiers end up needing psychological help for dealing with Post traumatic stress disorder. Ones that have PTSD often end up having problems with their families after returning home, their spouses have problems dealing with the new found issues and often times these types of things can tear a family a part. Becoming a member of the Military takes a lot of courage and strength, both mentally and physically.
