Business ethics are viewed differently in different countries. Many countries like the United States where business and business practices are much more evolved and have been internationally trading for a long time are thought of to have an advantage in business ethics. However, there are countries whose business development is in the early stages, and the ethics associated with business and business practices are in the early stages of development as well. The first article selected for evaluation is focused on China and its development of business ethics. A significant portion of the article goes into detail about Chinas lack of ethical policy as it pertains to business and how as an emerging business powerhouse ethics is one area where the Chinese realize they must make improvements to compete internationally, and domestically. The article illustrates how the Chinese recognize this fact and are striving to improve the business ethics. The second article was focused on the countries of Africa, and the corruption and unethical behavior associated with businesses in the Central and Western countries. The article illustrates how far many African nations are to the rest of the world as it relates to business ethics and corruption. Many countries in Africa are thought to be some of the most unethical and corrupt countries in the world (Gichure, 2006). The article reviewed relating to Africa focuses on Africa’s business ethics and how they are driven from a much different perspective than those of China and as a result the impacts are different as well.
