Design a Process Flowchart
One good way to start analyzing a process is with diagrams showing basic elements of the process (Chase, Jacobs, & Aquilano, 2006). I chose the single-stage process to categorize the data that was entered into the flowchart. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the commute time to work, present a flowchart with the data inputted and the metric used to measure the process.
Before analyzing the process of driving to work one-way, a person must first identify the process of their analysis process. Analyzing a process allows some important questions to be answered (Chase, Jacobs, & Aquilano, 2006). The first question is how much should a person expect from shortening or improving the commute times over a five day period as compared to lengthier commute times. There are a number of factors that could affect the process performance for driving to work. Some of those factors include: traffic flow, type of weather, weekend vs weekend, accidents, holiday season and how many miles per hour a person is driving the car.
In conclusion, a flowchart and single-stage time process was used for commuting to work one-way. The process was analyzed and factors that influenced this process were determined.
