Prevent Childhood Abduction

The “Big Idea” I have decided use is “preventing childhood abduction”. My working thesis statement is the U.S Department of Justice reports, that 795,500 children are reported missing in a one-year period and 203,900 were family abductions (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, 2012). This number grows each year the part that we need to look at is that most of these cases could have been prevented if we treated each situation that we are faced with as unsafe. We as parents have to look at a simple walk home from the school bus as a walk of terror because in just seconds that street she or he walked every day is now the street she or he went missing on. Were sadly unaware of the danger that lurks around our neighborhoods but let us step out of our comfort zone and we become over protective of our children. We as a community, have little knowledge of how to prevent our children from being...
