Mobile System Paper

In this paper I would like to talk about a fairly new app that I just discovered a few weeks ago, this app is called Songza and it is a web radio station that streams music for free. There are a variety of streaming services like Last.FM. Pandora, Slacker. Spotify. Which are partially free of charge this means that they charge a premium for accessing more advanced features which songza does not charge anything and provides all the features the mobile app has to offer. The second feature I like the most about Songza is that it is completely free, who does not like free right?, it does have ads but unlike Pandora’s free service the ads on songza do not interfere with the song or playlist you are listening to, they are visual ads which I think it is awesome because you can listen to music all day without interference. This service has become one of my favorite online music services because of its excellent playlist selection, non-intrusive ads (I have been using this app for around 3 weeks and did not even know it had ads until I started doing research on it) and mainly because is the first web radio that I have used that is not constantly buffering after each song, in my personal experience I just load the playlist that I want to listen to and will buffer for a few seconds and that is it almost 98% of the time will not buffer between songs even when I skip a song while using 3g from my service provider. I also like that the stations on Songza are made by people (any member of the community can create a station) and Songza helps people find stations by personalizing the stations based on a user's interests and by displaying an activity feed of what the user’s friends on Facebook are listening to.

Unlike other streaming services, users can find stations not just based on artists, songs, and genres, but also based on themes, interests, and eras, what mood are you on or even what time of the day it is like "90s one-hit...
