Health Care Training and Development

Training and education development both are very imperative to the health care arena. Training and education goes hand in hand to measure an employee competency to ensure they are capable of performing the job they are hired to complete. There are times when employees require ongoing or retraining to maintain the competency that is required for their job description. For this reason, an evaluation must be performed to see how effective the training and education curriculum is.

Training and Education Importance

Training and education are both key recommendation for healthcare professionals. Health care professionals must be properly trained and educated to ensure they are capable to meet the needs of the people they will come in contact with throughout their work day. Training and education allows the employer and employees to learn the most recent developments in the medical arena. They are both needed for cultural and linguistic competency. A patients’ treatment success outcome is highly based on the health care professional capability to properly asses and converse with them on a regular basis ("The Colorado Trust ", n.d.).

Importance of Measuring Competency

Within all organizations there must be a level of competency that is met in order to perform the desired job requirement. It is important for health care organizations to measure their employee’s competency to ensure they are recruiting and managing the employees in the most beneficial way, while putting the most qualified people in the correct position that allows them to perform at their highest potential daily.
