Modernization manifests itself in today’s society in many ways. We, as a nation, have a come a long way since the early 1900’s. The towns and communities are becoming smaller, the older generations are becoming more accustomed to the newer ways of life and to the new technology, and everything is much more diverse than it used to be. A huge turning point in the history of modernization in today’s society happened during this presidential election, the first black person was voted as the President of the United States. To come from the days of slavery and racism to voting a black person into office is an amazing accomplishment. Modernization is so abundant throughout the United States from technology of computers to the new ways of medicine. The way of computers have come a long way from when the first computers came out to the newer high speed computers. Even simple things like the old walk-man’s we used to use with our head phones modernizing to the new iPod’s. The future of medicine is always growing. So many premature babies are able to survive with the new technologies of medicine. Transportation has definitely flourished since the early ages. People used to get around by means of horses or horse and buggy. Now we have automobiles, trains, subways, airplanes, and even rocket ships to travel outside of the planet. Modernization has even affected schooling. A new way of learning is what we are here doing today, online school. This is also tied in with the new technology of computers and the internet. Online schooling allows me to further my education but still have the ability to have a full time job and also be a full time mother.

Modernization will always continue in the United States. I believe it will continue in all other areas of the world as well but possibly at a slower rate. People continue to become college educated and are able to come up with new ways of doing things, making things more efficient, and better for our ways of living. We, as the...
