PROJECT SMILE

My smiles were inconsistent depending on the type of person I encountered. Considering the gender I belong to, I should still be precautious. So, the task was to smile at three males and three females. This is not a thing I am good at. I hardly look at the person I bump into when walking. Especially to the men species, it is just so plain awkward to smile at men I do not know. Therefore, this project is a struggle.

Males:

1. Man in a motorcycle. While crossing the street, I was already looking for a probable someone to be a part of my project. Then, a young man who seems to be in his early twenties was approaching, riding a motorcycle with his helmet on. I smiled at him not knowing how pretty or awful my face looked like. Surprisingly, he stopped before me. I looked at how his face went afterwards, then, I ran across the street. After all, it became my chance to cross the road. Funny thing is, he was like ready to extend his left hand out and introduce himself but my running away from him never gave him the chance to do so. He was kind of a good-looking man and so after I reached the other side, I took a quick look from behind. He wasn’t there anymore.

2. Bunch of High school boys. Well, what do I expect to get from these guys? Friday night, I was walking outside to buy something when I came across five sixteen-year-old-looking high school boys. They were all talking loudly and I wasn’t sure whether they would even notice what I will do to them. Regardless, I still did what was needed to do. One of them saw me and immediately tapped the other one beside him on the chest. They started giggling. Then I continued walking away.

3. Somebody at the mall. I was sitting, fitting a shoe when someone sat beside me. He looked like a preppy teenager. He was shopping with some girl friends. After having the shoes fit me, I looked at him. Unexpectedly, he was looking at me, too. Then I smiled even before he would do the same to me. I think I looked...
