United relies on the planning that management prepares and utilizes. This point of management is a complex and important process that must take into consideration many legal issues. Also many ethical matters and corporate social responsibilities are in the same boat as ethical in the management process. Both in-house and exterior factors can endanger the goals and intentions that are in the pipeline management. Many factors are contenders from other airline companies that want to overpass united. Economic conditions are also a huge factor in the way that if there is a recession maybe it is not a good time to make these big decisions. Now due to the amounts of people that are not employed the merger would not take any jobs away but it will bring new jobs as well.

Legal matters have the potential to be extreme and influence present or potential ideas of any corporation. For example United placed a chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection in 2002 after the September 11 attacks. United eventually ended up peaking to then creating the opportunity to expand even more. A Severe legal matter can have a negative record or affect on company’s employees, business allies, consumers and the community, Where it can make people unsure of the company as a whole. United then has thrived in business and is why it merged with Continental to succeed as the top airline and at the same time employing the most employees.

At the times where a decision has to be made with the company there is always a specific way to present it and to get an answer. For example when United merged with Continental different groups of important people had to approve it. The way it got approved was in this order European Union, US Justice Department, United shareholders these were all required for approval of the new merger.
