Doctors Without Borders
Doctors Without Borders is an independent international company that offers medical expertise to populations in distress. Due to disasters caused either by nature or by man. This company does not discriminate against any race, religion, or political affiliation. Doctors Without Borders is there to help those who cannot help themselves. The purpose of this paper is to look at the four different components of the marketing mix of Doctors Without Borders. This report will look at how the product, pricing, placement, and promotion marketing efforts are affected by the economy and if this company is indeed flourishing in today’s society.
Doctors Without Borders began in 1971. It was founded by French doctors and journalists who say a need for medical attention in countries that were suffering due to life threatening situations. These situations could have been caused by natural disasters, epidemics, malnutrition, or war. Medecins Sans Frotieres or Doctors Without Borders strives to help all countries that are in distress regardless of race, religion, or political affiliation. This company does not discriminate against anyone. There are more than 27,000 people at anytime volunteering to work for this company. These people include doctors, nurses, logistics experts, technicians, and many more in the health field. The services that Doctors Without Borders provides all depend on what king of distress a country is in. These services include but are not limited to mental healthcare, surgery, clinic rehabilitation, vaccinations, and construction of wells to provide safe clean drinking water. Doctors Without Borders goes beyond working to alleviate the suffering of these people that are in crisis they also speak out against the situations that are causing them.
