We go shopping every 2 weeks. So here is the things we get usually, most of the times are at H.E.B supermarket.

The 4 meats are:

Pork loins - $1.99/pound

Boneless chicken breasts - $1.99/pound

Boneless turkey - $2.99/pound

Ground chicken - $2.99/pound

The 3 fruits are

Orange - $.99/lb

Watermelon - $.99/lb

Strawberries - $1.99/pound

Find the cost per pound.

Orange .99+ watermelon .99+ strawberries + 1.99=3.97/31.3233333 or $1.32 the average cost of the fruits.

Total weight in ounces is 64. In 1 pound there are 16 ounces, 16*4(packages of meats) =64

Total cost for all the meats.

Pork loins - $1.99/pound + Boneless chicken breasts - $1.99/pound + Boneless turkey - $2.99/pound + Ground chicken - $2.99/pound= 9.96 is the total of packages in meat.

Total average cost per ounces/pound

$9.96/4 (4 for each pound) =$2.49 price average for pound

$2.49/16=0.155625 which is $0.15 per ounce.

So after all the calculation of my groceries list, I’m not that surprise because H.E.B is the cheapest and freshest item you can get in Texas. Also I think is great that we learn this and showed how much we actually spend on food and packaging
