Success Story

The story of my success...

People have many different definitions of success. Some define it as a moment in time, e.g., when you’ve finished your education, or when you secure a job that makes lots of money or gives you satisfaction. Some people feel they’ve achieved success when they’ve reached some, or all, the goals they’ve set for themselves in life.

My success is the happiness I have with my life. No matter how many possession or what the level of education I have, my greatest success is finding inner serenity. Success is when you know love and find peace in your life. It's when you're surrounded with people you love and care for, and who love you in return.

When I was still a child, at your age, my parents had high hopes that I'll be successful in my education and in my career. I guess my parents’ definition of success is when you have finished your education and have a successful career. They honed me to be a good student and a good citizen. My parents made sure I was doing well in class, helped me with school work, and were always there for me whenever I need them. I feel very blessed to have had such supportive parents.

As a result of my parents’ guidance, when I was in school, I received many academic awards. I graduated as a Valedictorian in High School. I finished as a Magna Cum Laude in my Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering degree program. It's to date one of my biggest achievements in life. Because of my academic achievements I received multiple job offers after college but I declined them all. Some people might consider me successful for having finished my education with flying colors, but I didn’t consider it as a success.

After college, I followed my heart and chose love over career. I moved to Hawai’i, USA to have the success that I’ve always wanted. Now, I’m married to the man I love. He cares for and loves me more than anything else. For now, I have everything that I need in life. I have love and...
