Apple’s Make-vs.-Buy Decision
The information provided on the case study demonstrates that Apple has been doing an excellent job recruiting new talent. Apple is very smart an innovative because they acquired talents in a fast manner by buying entire companies and subsequently those companies became part of the organization. I think that Apple’s ensures that their recruiters cover every level of experience by hiring individuals that worked for companies that make similar products and that way they bring experience as an asset to the company. In addition to that, the company hired new engineers that most likely are not that experienced with the products that the company offers but I am sure that Apple’s give them the opportunity for development. It is admirable that the Apple hired individuals that were laid off from a company that was declared bankrupt, that way they were able to keep that talent and enhance their products.
Apples have been capturing an extensive area of the job market with their different recruiting strategies. One of the recruiting strategies that were not mention in the case study is recruiting at colleges or universities. The company should provide internship to students that way they get to do on the job training and get to experience being a valuable part of the country workforce. Recruiters should establish a good relationship with colleges and universities so they can allow them to search for new talent that is able to develop professionally and keep up with the organization up-tempo.
