Transformational Learning

When a major problem or issue happens in your life, our mind transforms its thoughts and faces many challenges. With any learning there are stages. Transformational learning has four. Recognize a significant problem, confront it intensely, find a solution, and integrate a new perspective. To move forward we must identify what’s holding us back. Discover the problem, and investigate every aspect of the problem. Confront the problem head on. As you study the problem itself start to look for a solution. A solution may not be easily obtained. Weigh the consequences, good and bad, of your solution. The hard parts done and now incorporating new perspectives and ideology’s is all that’s left. When you experience transformational learning you will have a new aspect to life.

For me high school was a learning experience that transformed the way I think. Not only did I learn and discover new information, but also I developed my critical thinking skills. I experienced dilemmas everyday though schoolwork. Also I found problems in the way I learned and my studying habits. I looked inward to investigate what made me think the way I did, and what motivated me. As I increased my knowledge base I critiqued my assumptions. I found fault in previous notions, but also reaffirmed previous knowledge. In high school it is easy to realize that others have gone before you. I explored a lot in high school and found most teachers encouraged this process. I forged many plans in high school. Some plans failed and other succeeded. With this I found what worked and what did not. As I learned new ways to do things I integrated those ideas into my current thought process.
