Memo on Vice President’s opinions on Rodger’s letter to Sister

Dear Rodgers,

Thank you so much for your trust on my capabilities and I am very glad that you wanted my opinion on your response letter to Sister Gormley about woman and minority involvement issues.

After I received your letter I have read it thoroughly and came up with the following suggestions:

Content wise I feel that it is more than adequate in the letter. As I see you mentioning about Sister’s voting issues against some of the organisational benefits, as a part of stakeholder, is not required. I suppose we need not cut down the sister’s arguments with her previous experience in our organisation and how she reacted, as we already have a systematic procedure to be followed at every level, by which a large number of people progress with us. I also appreciate you for clearly stating our objectives and principles we follow in our organisation.

Accuracy wise you have very well stated about all our company norms and figures. I think I need not comment on this as you know very well about these facts compared to me.

Appropriateness is concerned; you have mentioned about how we intake the board of directors and the followed procedures, which are very apt to be known. But I felt that mentioning about politic issues, comparing with the realistic environment scenarios, and citing examples on how certain companies reacted when certain ethical norms like tax on CEO’s salary were introduced, commenting on them, are not appropriate and relevant to our content of Sister’s letter. Though we follow on profit maximisation principle, we need not exhibit or comment that the outsiders are lame in practical business scenarios, which may in turn affect our stakeholders.

Range wise I feel that the content is too lengthy and it contains some extra information like investors issues which is not required in response to Sister’s letter.
