(a) These choices may be criticized because there is no way for a participant to express an “undecided" response or “a don't know" response.

(b) A widely used set of response choices and generally acceptable. One problem is the operational definition of the various terms. What is fair" to one may be good" to another when both are actually making the same judgment.

(c) This assumes that the average must fall between good and fair, while it might be that average should be elsewhere.

(d) The central choice of “neither agree nor disagree" does not adequately reflect the situation that might be called uncertain" or indifferent".

(a) Purpose: The purpose of source is what the author or the data collector is trying to accomplish. It is may be enlighten or entertain.

(b) Scope: It is so close to the purpose and explaining the depth of topic coverage, time period of it, and the criteria for information inclusion.

(c) Authority: Depends on the level of the data, we have different authorization. The author and the author’s credential both should be given in all the sources.

(d) Audience: The audiences are the specific group of people who use the source. Some time it is hard to determine a specific group as audience for a specific sources (for example the web sources).

(e) Format: Relates to how the information is presented and how easy it is to find a specific piece of information. Format may differ from source to source; it can be alphabetical, hierarchical, or chronological.

3. Primary sources are original works of research or raw data without interpretation or pronouncements that represent an official opinion or position. Secondary sources are interpretations of primary data. Tertiary sources may be interpretations of a secondary source but generally are represented by indexes, bibliographies, and other finding aids.
