Simon Lee and We Are Seven

William Wordsworth often addressed in his poetry themes such as death, life, the way our memories affect our lives, natural play, the innocence of youth, and the human condition. This essay will be focusing on Wordsworth, Simon Lee, and We Are Seven. In Wordsworth’s poem Simon Lee shows generosity support between younger generations to older generation. The poem We Are Seven supports family and innocence. Wordsworth explores ideas about intensity of passion humans can feel from each other, as well as how this human emotion is affected by what surrounds them.

Wordsworth was different than most children in the sense that he loved poetry. Wordsworth explains that his concept is to write about incidents and situations from common life, and to relate or describe them, throughout, as far as possible in a selection of language really used by men. His unusual writing topics have made him one of the greatest romantic poets. Many of his poems are based on his life and beliefs, which is to love nature and what it has to offer him. Wordsworth has a strong influence on the society, by writing poetry about common people, including woman and children, and sentimentally regarding them as equals, Wordsworth reflects the desire for equality amongst all mankind. In Simon Lee he shows great gratitude towards people. In We Are Seven he is showing how even if your love one is gone they are still family. As a great poet, Wordsworth is great at showing simple and pure language.

Who is “Simon Lee?” Simon Lee is a young man that was a hunter who is well known and full of energy. Simon Lee is also an old man that grew to be slow and swollen and poor. He worked as a huntsman for 25 years. Simon Lee is growing old, and is still having to work.
