1. What is your general purpose? My general purpose to is write a memo to the news bureau managers outlining the company's new policy for handling employees who have violated e-mail privacy rules. Including a list of penalties for privacy violators and the appropriate sequence for applying those penalties. Also include instructions about how to introduce this new policy, with a special meeting, and to also relay this policy to new hires. A more in-depth policy memo will be in their hands in a few weeks that must be posted for all employees to see.

2. What is your specific purpose? To give a memo to the news bureau managers about the company's new e-mail privacy policy.

3. Exactly what do you want your audience to think, feel or believe after receiving your message? I would like my audience to take this memo very seriously. This is a new policy, in which I would like my audience to feel the need to share with all other employees.

4. Who is your primary audience? The primary audience is the news bureau managers, who oversee editorial offices around the world. They will spread the new policy to other managers, who will then share with other employees.

5. What is their background? College graduates, strong interpersonal skills. They handle a diversity of duties and levels of responsibility.
