Alumina, Incorporated’s Risk Management Plan

After the recent settlement our company has devised a new regulatory risk management internal audit committee. The responsibilities of the Audit Committee will be described in the following report. The purpose of this committee is to identify regulatory risks to ensure we are following the federal and state level regulations for environmental risks. The Audit Committee will answer to the board of directors. They will prepare a monthly report that will identify the risks to the environment as well as the employees of Alumina. Our plan is to not only meet the mandated regulations, but to exceed the standard for our industry whenever possible. The goal of the committee is to identify risks and devise a plan for management of these risks. This will allow Alumina to continue to be a leader in the aluminum refining business throughout the world.

Audit Committee Plan

The Audit Committee will work in conjunction with the legal and public relations departments. The recent incident with Kelly Bates has made us aware of the lack of an effective plan to deal with this type of threat of litigation. We need an effective means of notifying the public not only when we receive a citation, but what we are doing to correct the problem. Our community needs to be aware that we are using the most effective equipment available on the market to eliminate pollutants from the water. That we are attempting to go above what the government mandates for pollution control, after all this is our home as well.

We will use the current state and federal regulation mandate to formulate guidelines for the current audit. We will continue to self-test, regulate, and report when necessary. The engineering department will submit their equipment quality control reports to the committee each month. Water testing will continue to be performed monthly also. The committee...
