Is Organics The Best Way To Go?

Our country has spent so much money and time on eating healthy, exercising, and at times starving; in order to be what high end individuals believe is fit. There is always some new fad with dieting, going on in America. There have been, low carbohydrate or no carbohydrate diets. No sugar or low sugar added, intense exercise and yoga diets have also been added into our country’s way of thinking and dieting. One of the most popular diets or health methods has been to eat natural food, or to eat only organic food. The world is becoming more and more interested in the science of organics and the fact that eating truly organic food is healthy. Or it is supposedly healthy. Eating organic foods has become a serious life style for some individuals. But, the main concern has been, whether or not organic food is truly organic. With everyone wanting to eat healthy it would make sense to make sure all food marked organic is being processed that way. Chemicals are being added to organic food, organic food is priced higher than extremely processed food, bacteria and harmful ingredients are being found, and most Americans simply eat badly. This all raises the question, “Is organic food the best way to go?”

Organic farming began in the 1940’s and now as of 2011 it is popular world-wide. Organic food sales took a dive though, once consumers started understanding and seeing that there are indeed major similarities in organic and chemically processed food. According to OCA (Organic Consumer Association), there were over 10 million organic consumers and yet organic food represents one percent of the nation’s food supply. That in its self raises a problem and is of some concern. Americans seem to believe that because there is a label stamped to a piece of produce, or edible product, it means that the food will be safer for you.
