Principle of Marketing

Team is the basic unit of performance; this is the combination of the skills, experience and insight of each member. Every team has its leaders and members working together for the same purposes.

Henry Ford, an American-industrialist and pioneer of the assembly-line production method, once said, “Coming together is the beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success” implies the importance of teamwork in the success of a desired work. To be able to be “together”, a team needs a leader that will serve as the head and main source of ideas and commands. But it doesn’t mean that everything will fall under the leader’s shoulder. The members are also expected to suggest some ideas for the project. Being “together” doesn’t have a literally meaning that you need to be physically present in doing your tasks. Each and everyone should be responsible enough to know their duties and priority to be able to finish and succeed on their task even without the presence of the leader.

A team is composed of different types of people. It may be hard to keep a team together for each and one of us has our own ideas and capabilities which may not fit together. But in building a team, it is a requirement that you know how to listen to each members’ suggestions, feelings and ideas. You need trust and commitment for one another as deep as their dedication in achieving your goals. If you can keep your team strong then you are not so far away with your success.

Working together is the most important part of being a team. It should not be called as a “team effort” if only one person did the task. It is necessary for a team to look for each other’s welfare. They should support each other in every way that they can, because one’s fault is everybody’s fall. It is also substantial that you enjoy each other’s company for a better work.
