In business, there is no replacement for effective management. Companies may fly high for a while but they cannot do well for very long without good management. It is the same for individuals: BusinessWeek’s Managers of the Year succeed by focusing on fundamentals, knowing what is important, and managing well. The four functions of management are planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. The company I work for is Ashford University, I am a liaison between students and campus, if my manager did not use the functions of management there would be problems with production in the workplace.
A function of Management is basically the smooth operation of well planned material in the steps to achieving the goal of the desired plan. If operating a car wash you would need a group of employee’s who could complete each wash so the customer does not feel as though the money they spent was wasted. In any management scenario in which a group is working together, the main goal would be to work together and achieve a goal. According to Spindler (2008),“If a customer has reached the point of frustration to sit on hold while fuming over a technical issue. The last dilemma a customer wants to deal with is attempting to communicate a problem and trying to help the recipient on the other end to understand.” in this quote the author is writing about a company, which needs different...
