There are seven phases of the system developmental life cycle. The first phase is planning. During this phase an analyst will outline a proposed system develop a budget and create a detailed development schedule. Then they determine whether to modify the existing system or build a new one. After this phase they continue to the analysis phase. In the phase the analyst works with the company to understand the problems and detail the requirements of the systems solutions. This step allows the team to collaborate more efficiently and provide a great understanding of the new system requirements. After the team knows the system requirements the third phase begins. The goal of the system designs phase is to provide a detailed description of how the new system will be built. This will include the specific functions of the system and the parts it should include. The development stage is where the building of the system starts. The organization will insure that the system, whether modified or new, will meet the design specifications. Programmers will develop a database using logical structures to write the programs for the system. After the system has been developed it is not ready for implementation. It goes through the fifth step which is the testing phase of the system developmental life cycle. The team needs to test hat the modules work correctly when put together. This is also known as unit testing. They test new software with other components. The importance of this phase is to thoroughly insure that there are no improperly tested software. After the system has been tested the implementation phase begins. This is the phase where all system components are installed and data that is needed from the old system is moved to the new. This phase also requires the employee use of the new system. The last step is the maintenance of the system. This includes the correction of errors, backing up and recovering data, supporting end users and enhancing the system. It also entailed...
