1.0 TOPIC CHOSEN AND ITS CONTEXT

The area to be considered is on Employee Motivation. The reason being that motivation has a huge value in determining performance and employee morale. An employee’s performance typically is influenced by motivation, ability, and work environment.

Many contemporary authors have defined the concept of motivation.

Motivation has been defined as: the psychological process that gives behaviour purpose and direction (Kreitner, 2001); In an article of 1998 Bufford et al, says is a predisposition to behave in a purposive manner to achieve specific, unmet needs (Cited in James R. Lindner 1998), and the will to achieve (Bedeian, 1993).
