Source of Activity

On Saturday, 06/24/2006, at 0715 hours, I officer ____________was dispatched to 221 Wakefield Drive in reference to a possible DOA.

Observations

Upon arrival I made entry into the house, I found the victim Courtney Fink sitting on the couch slumped over, with her head positioned on the left side armrest of the couch. Ems was called to the scene and the victim was pronounced dead on arrival. The Medical examiner was contacted next, and a crime scene log was started immediately, documenting every person who entered and exited the crime scene and the times they did so.

The victim’s body did not appear to have any marks, or signs of trauma. Located on the coffee table directly in front of the couch was an IBM laptop and a 3 bottles of pills. One of the bottles was open with 17 pills spilled out on the table.

The entire house seemed to be in great disarray, unable to determine at this time whether or not there was a struggle of any sort.

The weather was sunny, but the days prior to the arrival it had rained for several days and the ground was still wet. As of now no forced entry has been found, along with any footprints in the soft landscape.

Initial observations, victim is believed to have suffered an overdose, but final determination will be made when toxicology report comes back.

Note from the Victim

Upon further inspection a note was found on the IBM Laptop computer, it read:

Statements (Friend Nora Jones)

Once I walked outside of the house I spoke to a friend of the victim, Courtney Fink. The friend Nora Jones stated she has been a friend of the victim for 15 years. The friend last saw the victim...
