The Significance of Critical Thinking

Critical thinking has always been a huge part of our lives for as long as any of us have ever tried to remember. The fact that I am able to take such an interesting class on critical thinking allows me to mentally grow. The way you choose to solve problems plays a big role in your life and possibly in the life of people around you. With that said, I believe that being skilled in the way you think and solve problems can really make things a lot easier for you in life. Critical thinking is all in the way you choose to solve a problem or resolve an issue. It is in the way you handle certain situations and come to possible conclusions. When thinking critically, from what I have learned, you want to make sure that you have an open mind and weed out any kind of biases that can come your way, and trust me when I say, there is a lot!

What I Have Learned

I cannot even begin to explain the number of things that I have found out these past nine weeks. The fact that solving a problem or resolving an issue can be so complex is completely intriguing. One thing that I found interesting is in stages of investigation. Whether you are investigating a problem or an issue. These stages are very often overlooked, but they play the most significant role in trying to resolve the problem or issue. People often consider thinking as something that instantly happens when a problem or an issue arise, however, what I have learned, thinking takes many forms and you can definitely plan for what you are thinking. Another thing that I have learned, and I believe that it is the most important thing, is the process of refining your solution to a problem or resolution to an issue. When someone takes so long in finding a solution to a problem, the do not really stop to think about the many possibilities they may have to improve upon their ideas.
