Introduction:

In this paper I will discuss the different forms of communication and how it affects the healthcare arena. I will be using two sources one from the UOP library and one from rEsource. We will look at the how technology has made an impact in the healthcare system from the administrators to the medical physicians and other healthcare providers. I will discus the financial impact that healthcare organizations are face with today.

Many healthcare providers may want electronic medical records (EMR) systems research have found that not many primary care physicians offices have EMRs. The health organizations that have not adopted this system are waiting for additional research to see if this is a sure bet. Although. (EMRs) provide fast and available source of patient information. EMR technology is still unaffordable for most hospitals, group practices, and definitely for solo-practitioners. EMR system is design to cut medical errors and reduce the number of law suits.

The Institute of Medicine estimates that every year between 44,000 and 98,000 people die from medical errors while medication-related errors for hospitalized patients cost roughly $2 billion annually (Cater, 1984).

In voice technology it is another way to differentiate between voice recognition systems is by determining if they can handle only discrete words, connected words, or continuous speech. Most voice recognition systems are discrete word systems, and these are easiest to implement. Recognition system that handles continuous speech is the most difficult to implement (Adams, 1990).
