The assessment I chose was diabetes because one that I think I can be risk of. Diabetes is a disease that affects how you body uses the blood glucose or better known as blood sugar. To much glucose in you body can lead to diabetes. There are to ways of getting glucose which are from your liver and the food you eat. There are several types of diabetes; there is type 1, type2 and gestational diabetes. When you have type 1 diabetes your immune system fights off harmful bacteria and viruses but when you have type 1 diabetes instead it attack you cell that produce insulin in your body. Type 1 diabetes can be cause by number of thing one is genetics and second is environmental factors.

Type 2 diabetes is when your cell becomes resistant to the insulin your body produces and your pancreas can not produce enough to make it due to the resistance. This causes the sugar to build up in the blood stream. Main causes of type 2 diabetes are people who are overweight. Not all people over weight have type two diabetes. Gestational diabetes is normally contract when women are pregnant. During ones pregnancy the placenta produces hormones to sustain the pregnancy. The hormone the placenta prices make the cells resistant to the insulin.

Risk factor of type 1 diabetes is that it damages your immune system. Your also have dietary factors which are low vitamin D consumption or early exposure to cows milk as a young baby. Type 2 diabetes risk factors are being over weight. The more fatty tissue you have the higher resistant your cells become to insulin. There is also a risk of getting due to family history if your parents had type 2 diabetes there is a risk of you getting it as well. Gestational diabetes risks are women who are about 25 years old and pregnant. Also is you are prediabetic or have family history of diabetes. Also being overweight before being pregnant you have a high risk of getting it.
