Ted Bundy and Jeffery Dahmer were both seemingly benevolent murdering men. Both killed and raped numerous people, one of which killed men and the other women. These are not the only similarities though. They also kept souvenirs from their victims, went to prison, and dismembered their victims’ bodies.

Theodore Robert Bundy was born November 24, 1946 in Burlington, Vermont, to an unwed mother and was raised by his grandparents. 14 years later there would be another psychopathic murder born. Jeffery Lionel Dahmer who was born May 21, 1960 in West Allis, Wisconsin, into a fundamentalist family. Both grew to be handsome, well-educated and intelligent men who were not suspected of the heinous acts they committed.

As a boy Ted Bundy was raised thinking his grandparents were his biological parents and his mother was his sister. This led him to search for his biological father ending in unknown results. In 1974 while Bundy attended the University of Washington to study Chinese, he began his murders after his relationship with fellow college student Stephanie Brooks ended. This caused him much grief, in turn beginning his lifelong obsession with his future victims and their similarities to Brooks. Although, years later Ted and Brooks rekindled their romance and Ted suddenly ceased all contact with Brooks in revenge, it only left him with little comfort. His rage then transfigured into a series of brutal attacks on young women who all shared Brooks’ physical characteristics. Like Dahmer, Bundy’s Modus Operandi was to approach his victims in a friendly manner. He wore an arm-sling or a cast and would then introduce himself and ask the girl to help him carry his books or packages he was having trouble with because of his “broken arm”. Most were more than willing to help seeing his handicap.
