Club IT, Part 1

Introduction

Club IT is a night club that was the dream of Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada. They both worked their way through school, both obtaining a degree in Business Administration, by working as musicians. Working as musicians, Lisa playing jazz violin and Ruben on drums, they have learned a lot about nightclubs along the way and how they operate along with business principles from their college experience. They have acquired a space that is 6,000 square feet complete with a dance floor that is 600 square feet, enough seating for 220 guests along with space for a bar and a kitchen that is equipped to make bar food and short orders. The owners have just completed a remodel to the interior of the club, including vaulting ceilings and better lighting to add to the ambience of the club (Wiley, n.a.).

Mission and Clientele

Club IT’s mission statement is simple "We, Ruben and Lisa, offer you live music, DJ's, dance space and refreshments that suit your lifestyle. You are our friends, and we seek to build a community that meets regularly at Club IT” (Wiley, n.a.). The club is targeting clientele that loves music and loves to dance. With the lineup for the live music and DJ’s they have schedule it should not be a problem to attract this type of customer. The club even has bands from different parts of the United States scheduled to play along with local bands, open mike nights and DJ’s of the World (Wiley, n.a.). Club IT has such a wide variety of music scheduled to play that they should not have any issues obtaining the right clientele year round.

Existing IT

The owners are presently using the intranet and networks as the company’s information system. Their information system includes a websites that clientele can access to view information about the club such as the music schedule, dining options along with the club’s menu, merchandise that can be purchased and a layout of the club....
