Characteristics of Orientalism

Muslim and Arabic people; two different worlds. Muslims embrace the religion of Islam and could pertain to almost anyone who practices the Muslim religion. Muslims are also from all parts of the world. Ultimately Muslim is derived as a form of religion. Arabic on the other hand; could be religion-based or ethnicity-based, and they also derive from the Middle Eastern region of the world. Arabic’s are known to speak Persian, and in some cases do not even speak Arabic, because many are not native to the language. Islam on the other hand speaks the Arabic language; but Muslims in general normally speak the native language of the country that they reside in. When I hear Muslim, I think of religion. When I hear Arabic, I think of the Middle East. However, I do often associate Muslims with Arabic and Arabic with Muslim. This is exactly what this topic is about, the differences of Muslim and Arabic all together.

I don’t believe that the United States has made any changes for the greater good of Muslim and Arabic, Americans. The United States Patriot Act was brought in by George W. Bush after 9/11 to counter the efforts of terrorism, which would in turn, remove certain freedoms of individuals suspected of terrorism. This is also a very controversial issue among Muslim and Arabic Americans. United States laws prevent discrimination both, for and against any individual living upon the United States soil. This would also violate equality laws to say the least. I have also searched many “keywords” on the Federal Bureau of Investigation website, and have read many informative entries of...
