Write a 100- to 150-word response to each of the following questions:

• Was there anything in either the University of Phoenix Student Code of Conduct or the Student Code of Academic Integrity that surprised you? If so, what was it? Why were you surprised? If not, why not?

I was not surprised at the information in the Student Code of Conduct or in the Student Code of Academic Integrity. In this day and age, we have to be careful at what we do and how we act. The University is a place of higher learning and needs to be treated with respect. If the University of Phoenix did not have these codes, there would be a lot of conflict. There is such a diverse amount of students who attend college, you would need to have student codes for them to follow and adhere to. These student codes also helps build integrity and holds the student responsible for what he/she does.

• What did you learn about the behaviors considered important for an ethical learner or student in the University of Phoenix learning community?

I learned that you need to act professional and state what you know, not what you think you might know. Since there is a diverse amount of students attending the University of Phoenix, you need to keep that in mind because we all have our own opinions and ways of doing things. We learn from one another and sometimes incorporate ideas and suggestions from fellow students. It would not be right to send a student a message that would lead them in the wrong direction. We are all here to learn and I would be heartbroken if someone intentionally led me wrong. It is very important to maintain your composer whether you are online or face to face with a student.

• Why are the Student Code of Conduct and Student Code of Academic Integrity important to you and the University of Phoenix learning community?
