Abstract:
The following report is aimed for students of Information and Communication Technologies having basic knowledge of wireless communication. This report talks about the importance and implementation of WiMAX technology in the world of wireless communication.
It clearly explores the concept of WiMAX in the world of 4G communication systems and how it is different from the predecessor systems like Wi-Fi.
It also looks at how a typical WiMAX system works and the standards governing its specifications. The types of WiMAX systems are introduced along with the devices that are used to implement and deploy them for commercial purposes. The security factors which are to be considered while implementing the concept are also stated.
The applications and advantages of WiMAX are listed to highlight the reasons for adopting this new technology. It also sheds some light on the threats and issues related to the concept of WiMAX.
The last part concludes the whole report. After reading the report, the reader will have a clear understanding on the concept and applications of WiMAX in the field of wireless communication.
