Things to Consider When Making an Apple Pie

Nothing in the world smells as enticing as homemade apple pie. There are numerous recipes for apple pie. Some use tart apples, while others use sweet. Some recipes consider the addition of nuts and others don’t. Some versions add additional dried fruits like raisins, cranberries, or cherries. When making homemade apple pie, proper apples, fresh ingredients, proper equipment, and ample time to prepare the recipe are necessary.

The first thing one needs for a delicious apple pie is proper apples. Freshly picked, golden delicious apples contribute to the homemade taste. Canned apples are often too sweet and lack the nutrients that fresh apples contain. Picking the apples gives one the satisfaction of knowing the freshness that was put into the pie. Having the proper apples gives the satisfaction of knowing that one will not be able to resist the homemade taste.

The next thing to consider when baking an apple pie is other fresh ingredients. One would most definitely need flour, salt, and butter to make a flaky crust. Adding these ingredients together slowly with water makes for a scrumptious crust. Having two types of sugar (white and brown), salt, lemon juice, flour, and cinnamon help to add a to die for flavor to the apple pieces. All of these ingredients together over the apple pieces allow for the flavor that one craves to build up while marinating in the fridge. These ingredients are important in making an apple pie because without them there would be no shell and that scrumptious and irresistible flavor one craves when searching for the perfect apple pie.
