The marketplace is introduced to new products and services daily. Failing is a typical result of new products and services. Failures are the result of improper research, no research, pricing, distribution channels, timing, testing, capacity, training, and promotion (Brandt, 1999). Each individual topic seems small but is vital to the success of a new product or service. This essay will discuss a new product and the risks and benefits it places on success and failure in the Bath and Body Works marketing business world.

Bath and Body Works

“Bath & Body Works was founded in New Albany, Ohio in the fall of 1990, and has always prided itself on the innovation, quality and performance of its products. A division of Limited Brands, Inc., Bath & Body Works now has more than 1,600 stores nationwide. Bath & Body Works has reinvented the personal care industry with the introduction of fragrant flavorful indulgences, including shower gels, lotions, candles and accessories” (Bath and Body Works, 2012). There is a focus on health and well-being in the Bath and Body Works business through at home spa products that incorporate aroma therapy rituals and the at home and on the go antibacterial products. Products come in scents that excite the senses and help encourage good health and hygiene. The products that Bath and Body Works offers in the scents that the ever-growing store is popular for there is one product yet to be seen in the store.

Description of new product or service: 

The new product team A will be producing is a fabric sheet. The fabric sheet will be represented by Bath and Body Works it will be scented in some of their more popular fragrances. This will be a sheet that is added to the dryer when one is drying their laundry.
