Every day there are many different developments in the medical field they range from cures of diseases to the discovery of new diseases that we had not once be aware of. The medical field is constantly growing and evolving in many ways. The discovery of personalized medicine could benefit us in many ways although it is not considered as a normal practice. I think if we could use this technology it would be very beneficial to the many people who are suffering from awful painful diseases, and could help many since it would be personalized specifically for them.

Personalized medicine by definition means personalized medicine means using tools, such as pharmacogenomics, to tailor treatment to you based on your genetic makeup. (Mayoclinic2012) This type of treatments could be very beneficial considering that everyone human individual is different, and we all have different genetic makeup and when it comes to medications that we take our bodies will react in different ways that others may not. If personalized medicine was in use it could help doctors determine what’s the best medication for a person based on genetic test that the can use prior to the individual having medication to see if the individuals body will react in the best way for the medications that they have been given. I think it would be a great asset to help many that have diagnosed with more complicated diseases, and need the best alternative to promote better health. This type of technology could better help physicians’ figure the best route for medical care for their patients that plagued by diseases like diabetes, heart disease, cancer and Alzheimer’s.

As there are may be many positives to trying this personalized medicine there are some downfalls to this type of innovative medicine such as genetic, and other molecular tests raise ethical, legal, and societal questions as well....
