The ethical thing to do at Bryson Corporation is to report the defects in the laminated cable samples to the military inspector .Not reporting them violates the five main reasons for businesses to be ethical. One of the strongest ethical principles is stated very simply: “Do no harm” To meet the demands of stakeholders and enhance business performance, ethically the company cannot sell substandard materials which when used in missiles could possibly harm the innocent civilians or even to US service members if a missile misfired.

If I were Stanton, I would follow my personal morals and company protocol and file the failure report and also notify company’s source inspector. Since in this case it appears that Stanton was unsure who to contact, I would also call someone at the parent corporation for assistance. While this entails deceiving his boss, this action will overall benefit the company in the end. However even after these steps I could not stop delivery of defected materials, then I might decide to quit from the job. I would never work for a company that could overlook such an enormous, life threatening mistake.
