Ovarian transplant is a scientific method that could help to delay menopause enabling women to become pregnant later in life. Scientists can now remove small pieces of ovarian tissues then freeze it. When women reach their menopausal age, the tissue can then be transplanted back. This procedure was originally developed for women who had cancer which would have made them infertile but can now be applied to any women wanting to start a family later. 28 babies have been born to parents who have undertaken this procedure the majority without the help of IVF. Ovary transplants could have many benefits to women as it enables them to not have to worry about their biological clock. As well as lowering the risk of diseases associated with menopause. There is however some disadvantages, although this technology allows women to fall pregnant it does not eradicate the risks concerned with carrying a child at an older age.

Ovarian transplants are a solution to women that want to have children when they are older It can also help with diseases associated with menopause. Women would no longer have to worry about their biological clock. This means that they can establish their career, marriage and finical security first and they no longer have to worry about if they will be able to fall pregnant when they are finally ready to. As ovarian transplant delays menopause it can also reduce the risk of diseases linked to it such as osteoporosis and heart disease. The risk of these diseases normally increases at the end of a women’s reproductive life but if menopause was delayed so would the risk. Ovarian transplants are a solution to women wanting children later in life and can help with diseases associated with menopause.
