Why does theater still exist today in this digital age?

Yes, Theater still exists in this age of digital technology. Actually theater has become more preserved with the new technological advances. The different forms of theater have been more able to be shared with the public with the excerpts from place like You Tube to name one example. From many of my experiences in college majority of the theatrical examples from the past can be explored on (You tube). Or other site which dedicate themselves to the preservation of theater. So, yes theater does exist in today’s digital age. Not to mention children still preform plays in school of different classic such as The Wiz. The expression maybe a bit different such as strictly singing but the pure essence of theater is preserved and often duplicated due to the pure weight that theater has held over the many hundreds decades.

What in human nature makes theater compelling?

This is a great question the answer of course is human themselves. The meaning of this answer is the difference in humans and the way they portray a different character or emotion. The difference in all of us and our interpretation is the element in which makes theater compelling. One example of this fact is how many times have we went to see a motion picture which is theater but on the big screen. Then went to see the sequel of that same picture one of the key actors was changed. What did you say to yourself the other person was better? This is the element in which makes human nature so compelling. Same process in live theater man so and so would have done a better job.
