I establish my priorities by first making a list of my school work and my personal agenda items. It’s easier me to compile all the things I need to do and list their deadlines as well. Things with the earliest due date are always highlighted so I can remember that they are urgent. After I have made the list, I place each item on my daily planner and I set a reminder on my phone to help remember also.

My support system is made up of my fiancé and my children mostly. Since I started school, my kids have been a huge help in making dinner and chipping in around the house with daily chores. When my fiancé gets home from work, he spends time with the kids so I am able to get some study time in and put the finishing touches on assignments that are due. My neighbor has become a big help as well. She is always around when I need to vent or just need a break away from the everyday rigmarole.

If my computer goes down, I can use my fiancé’s computer. My second option is to go to my neighbor’s house. She has computers that I can use and all I have to do is walk to her house. When all else fails, there are the computers at University of Phoenix campus that I can go use. The plus side of going to the campus is that there are counselors and other people there that can help me if I have any questions.

I keep track of my assignments and due dates by putting them in my daily planner and on my wall calendar. When my classes started, I printed out my syllabus for each class. I read each syllabus completely and highlighted all the assignments and due dates. Then, I placed every item including their due dates on my daily planner and my wall calendar. I set a reminder on my phone to alert me each day as well.
