SodaStream

Abstract

You will see what product I chose and why I feel the product is innovative in its industry. I will tell you whether entrepreneurship or Intrapreneurship was used to introduce the product. You will see some advantages, disadvantages and some challenges that may have occurred with using the approach. I will also tell you the different risks, skills sets, organizational assets, funding, and keys to success would have been needed to accomplish if the entrepreneurial product had been brought to market through Intrapreneurship.

SodaStream

The product I chose is the SodaStream. I fell that this product is innovative in its industry because of the new advancements of technology and the quality of the product. It is also innovative in its industry because there are millions of people that drink carbonated water and carbonated beverages and if they purchase this product this will help them save money. They will not have to continue to purchase plastic or can beverages they would be able to make their own with the SodaStream. SodaStream in an item from all ages would enjoy having in their household.

“The SodaStream was first introduced in 1903 by George Gilbey of the London Gin Distiller, Ltd. The first SodaStream was to add sparkle to tap water and the butlers in the upper classes from country houses were able to make soda water” (SodaStream, n.d.). The SodaStream was introduced to the market through commercial and advertisement. The approach used was entrepreneurship which the SodaStream was introduced to the public to see who would like the idea of making their own carbonated water and carbonated flavored drinks. “Being that it is a small business the company was able to improve the product without any worries of procedures and administration controls to slow the process down” (Lambing & Kuehl, 2007).
