1932

The founder of the KG Group, K. Govindaswamy Naidu, a Cotton farmer started a ginning and cotton trading venture.

1971

The success of his ginning and trading venture encouraged him to expand into the field of cotton yarn spinning and he took over of Sri Kannapiran Mills Ltd. (SKML), a ring-spinning mill then running at a loss. With the help of his sons, he turned it around in less than a year and made it profitable.

1975

This year marked the beginning of KG's philanthropic dream to help society and he set up KG Hospital.Due to the phenomenal success of his first mill, he took over The Kadri Mills Ltd. (TKML), another ring-spinning mill and adopted The Kadri Mills School for the benefit of the workers and their families

1980

With KG's success in Textiles, the group expanded into engineering and took over of CPC (P) Ltd, an engineering unit.

1981

KG Group added entertainment to the city of Coimbatore with KG Arts Center, a multi-theater complex with 2994 seats and four independent theaters.
