“Get to know the poor in your country. Love them. Serve them.” – Mother Teresa

I believe that Mother Teresa was a humanitarian. She strived to meet the needs of others. A humanitarian is someone who seeks to promote human welfare. Mother Teresa had an interpersonal strength to help those who were hungry and those who were poor. She grew famous for ministering to lepers, homeless and the poorest of the poor in slums of Calcutta. Mother Teresa founded a Missionary that devoted to helping to aid sick people and the poor people. She was kind always doing what she could do for the poor people of Calcutta. Mother Teresa had love for others like no one else. She once said “One of the greatest diseases is to be nobody to anybody.” She also says that “The biggest disease of today is not leprosy or tuberculosis but the feeling of being unwanted, uncared for and deserted by everybody.” Mother Teresa knew the feelings of others and how she would feel if in their shoes. Helping others made Mother Teresa happy, she wanted to do that there for she had a wide range of social intelligence.

I think that having the humanity virtue is important to me because I try to give everyone a chance. I love people. I am always willing to help anyone that I can. I have friends that call me all the time when they are in need of someone to talk to, someone to cry with, or someone to just vent to. I am also called upon when people need help with stuff. I am often told that I know the right things to say at the right times. I have also heard that I am a good counselor. I am always taking into consideration how other people would feel, and what makes them feel the way they do. I think that if everyone had humanity then the world would be full of love and peace.
