Mr. Ashit Kumar Roy is the founder of “ROYTEX”-a well known garment buying house in the country. He has been working successfully in the garment and textile sector since 2003 and provides quality service to the international buyer. He not only owns this prestigious establishment but also actively participates in all the functions of the ROYTEX including graphic designing of the clothes, interior decoration of the retail showrooms, monitoring inventory and supervising others when necessary.

Background of the Entrepreneur

Mr. Ashit Roy was in his 2nd year doing Honors in English when he married Sintheya Roy. He was only 21 years old. After marriage, the newly wed couple decided to move to Canada and pursue further studies. Mrs. Sintheya decided to sit for the H.S.C examination in Canada under the supervision of the Bangladesh Embassy in Canada. Due to unavoidable circumstances, she could not do so. So she took a nine month course on business English which included report writing, shorthand, accounting and other topics helpful for a secretarial job. Both of them worked as they studied. Mr. Ashit Roy worked at a prestigious fashion house. After studying for another two years in English Literature in Canada, Mr. Ashit Roy decided that he did not want a career as a teacher. So he left college once again and started working in a famous fashion store called ‘Brando’, in Canada. Mr. Ashit Roy lives with his wife and two children. He is a dynamic man, always doing something and radiating energy and exuberance as he talks and participates in something. In 1995-97, they felt homesick and decided to return to their country and try out their luck at home. In Bangladesh Mr. Ashit Roy started his working life as a merchandiser of Liba Trading.
