As we all know by now; the network management system is in charge of carrying out assistance services for network monitoring from the use of various hardware and software. It is the job of a network management system to inform the network managers on such information when it comes to the network.
One of the most major event categories are Fault Management events. We will talk on Fault management. The goal of fault management is to detect, log, notify users of, and (to the extent possible) automatically fix network problems to keep the network running effectively.

The above picture job is to watch the network for real-time events, listen to alarms from various agents and devices on the network, and also filter. From there it will forward SNMP Traps, and notify management.
Network management systems use a few event-based transactions to inform network managers of alarms, events, and alerts. In laments terms the real issue about events and alarms is for an example you working as a security person and an alarm comes through and you have to inform someone immediately about the alarm and making sure it gets handled. But Fault management is more than just handling emergencies. It provides functions for managing problems with services and handling customer-facing service problems.
Here are a few items about the fault management and some of the advantages:
Efficient fault management can:
•Save repair costs through efficient fault detection, location, and correction
•Improve customer care through efficient trouble administration
•Improve service availability and equipment reliability through proactive maintenance and through measurement, review, and corrective action
