People are face with conflicts on a daily basis and it does not have to be a bad thing. In this discussion you we see how conflicts fits in to my work environment. Also we will see the different categories of conflicts and which one fits my situation. I will show what individual characteristics that contributed to the conflict, how it affects the organization, and mostly importantly how it was resolved.

A conflict is a process in which one party perceives that its interests are being opposed or negatively affected by another party. How can this process be done? There are different categories that can make a person have opposition. These categories are inter-personal, intergroup, and interorganizational.

Conflict is a part of most every interpersonal relationship. Therefore, it is very important if the relationship is to be long-lasting and rewarding to learn how to manage this conflict. An interpersonal conflict is a disagreement between two individuals or subgroups of an organization involving significant resentment and discontent. This definition also shows that an interpersonal conflict does not necessary have to between just two individuals. These characteristics would include personality, values, goals, commitment to position, stress, anger, and desire for autonomy.

These personality characteristics do indeed breed conflicts. A person’s values usually have stronger effects. Having a chance to travel the world, while in the military, I have seen many different cultures. The Middle Eastern culture is truly different from the western culture. They have individuals that really believe the western culture to be bad and should be avoided.

There are distinct facets involving interpersonal conflicts, they include the perceptual interface, communication, behavioral, structural relationships, and the previous interactions.
